Characters are primarily revealed to us by what they do and say. No amount of description will bring them to life as vividly as a scene in which they have to respond in some telling way. That said, a good name can help.

About the event
In this highly interactive workshop, Tim will look at ways to put the character into a revealing situation, starting with a name. Then, check out what this newly named character has in his or her pocket or purse. The important thing here is that this is a great way for you, the author, to get to know your characters before you unleash them on the reading public.
Bring a note pad / laptop and be prepared for lots of writing and discussion!

Light snacks and refreshments will be served. Feel free to bring more something more substantial. Don't forget your water bottles!
